Our monastery dog breeding program of AKC Labrador Retrievers and AKC Anatolian Shepherd Dogs focuses on producing ideal family companion dogs suitable for therapy work, possessing the instincts and ability to fulfill the tasks for which the breeds were originally developed. All of our puppies are raised by the Norbertine nuns, who care for and work with the puppies from the moment they are born.

Our breeding dogs were chosen from top blood-lines with a focus on temperament and trainability, beauty/conformation, and health.

Our Canine Neonatal Care Program is based on those used by top therapy and service dog facilities. Special features of this program are:

A. Systematic socialization, including:
– Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI)
– Socialization with children, dogs and other animals
– Carefully planned exposure to various sights, smells, noises, etc.

B. Age-appropriate introductory training in manners and obedience to help the puppies develop into well-adjusted future family dogs.

We also offer an “Extended Stay” program for a limited number of puppies whose owners wish them to be trained by our sisters beyond the usual eight-week-old pick-up date.
