We had first acquired East Friesian sheep in 2018 for their rich, nutrient-dense milk, and, by God’s providential plan for us, have also found that this breed thrives on pastureland, are docile and easy to train, and have adapted excellently to portable electric pens used for the “intensive pasture management.”  We have recently added some Lacaune genetics into the flock to enlarge and strengthen the gene-pool, and are selectively breeding for good dairy production/udder structure, ease of handling, and hardiness in a regenerative agriculture setting.

The East Friesian lambs mature very quickly and their milk is delicious and highly nutritious, with more energy, protein, fat, and a better yield for cheese-making than the milk of other species. Some people who are allergic to cow and goat’s milk, can safely consume sheep’s milk. The meat is also delicious and highly nutritious. Our sheep do well when tethered, and can be sustained on less nutritious forage than our cows. They are a great option for those who are interested in grass-fed meat or dairy for their family or who are looking for docile and easy-to-handle livestock to graze their orchards and keep down weeds on their property.

Available

As of spring 2025, we have a limited number of East Friesian lambs available as well as some Romanov sheep–both lambs and adult ewes– a tri-purpose breed that is very hardy. Ewe lambs are $500 each and Ram and Wether Lambs are $300 each. We are happy to answer any questions about our sheep.
